ITS classroom support

This message to all faculty and staff has been approved by Dr. Sally McRorie, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.

ITS Classroom Support will be staffed to support TEC classrooms Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 9:30pm while instructors are using our classrooms. If you are ill, please remember to practice social distancing and not come to campus.

Instructors will be required to use their FSUCards to gain access to the classroom, as all TEC classrooms will be locked until FSU returns to face-to-face classes. Instructors of record will have access to their TEC classrooms (and the building they are in) during their regularly scheduled class times, the same as they did before Spring Break. The door will unlock and lock behind you to ensure your security. We ask that you please keep all doors closed. Under no circumstances should students be allowed in the room with you while you are teaching. Also, to protect yourself and other instructors, you may want to bring disinfectant wipes to wipe down your classroom’s touch screen, keyboard, and/or mouse. If you have trouble accessing your classroom next week, please call us at 644-2811, and we can remotely unlock the classroom door.

Instructors who are not instructors of record, such as TAs, will not have card access automatically. They will need to contact Classroom Support and provide their name, employee ID, the last 8 digits of their FSUCard number, and the classroom to which they need access.

If an instructor wishes to move to a different classroom, this request must be approved by Academic Space and Scheduling. If a classroom is needed outside of a regularly scheduled class period for a prerecording of a class or other reasons, a request must also be approved by Academic Space and Scheduling. Requests can be sent via email to either ecrowley@fsu.edu or rdavis@fsu.edu.

For instructors teaching on other campuses/locations (e.g., Panama City), please contact that campus/location for its specific classroom access procedures.

Classroom training and assistance with lecture capture and Zoom will be available by contacting Classroom Support.  Report a problem by using the “Report a Problem” icon on the desktop and please enter your name, email and cell phone number.  A problem can also be reported by email to classroomsupport@fsu.edu or by phone at 644-2811.  However, there is a possibility that a technician may not be immediately available if we are helping other instructors. If you have further questions, please contact:
