Return to Student Life

This message to all students, faculty and staff has been approved by Dr. Amy Hecht, Vice President for Student Affairs

Dear Florida State University Community,

This week we begin to welcome students back to the residence halls, and we can feel the energy as many students move to Tallahassee in anticipation of the Fall semester. Although this will be a different Fall than any of us anticipated, we are excited to have our community back together.

To our students, welcome back! All of FSU’s Faculty and Staff have been working hard this summer to prepare for you – whether you will be in Tallahassee or experiencing virtual FSU from across the state, country, or world.

The Division of Student Affairs is committed to ensuring a supportive, engaging, and healthy FSU experience for all students. We invite the community to learn more about how we are accomplishing these goals through our Return to Student Life Guide . This resource provides information on campus events, activities, services, and more. We encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with this resource as we are required to abide by these guidelines to keep all of us as safe as possible. We know you all share our hope that these efforts will mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and allow for us to return to the FSU experience we all value in the future. Our Virtual FSU platform will continue to offer a robust array of programs and services accessible to all students, wherever you are located.

It is up to each of us to uphold these safety precautions for each other. I know this may be difficult, and I also know Florida State University’s community can do hard things. We are in this together!

Some key takeaways:
Wear a facial covering
Do not gather in groups larger than 50
Practice social distancing
Practice good hygiene
Participate in contact assessment when requested
Get a digital thermometer
Stay home if you have symptoms or have had close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19

Please help us all stay safe and Go ‘Noles,

Dr. Amy Hecht
Vice President for Student Affairs
