Online workshops for remote teaching strategies

This message to all faculty and staff has been approved by Robert Fuselier, Director of the Office of Distance Learning.

The Office of Distance Learning (ODL) continues to offer online workshops to assist instructors with remote teaching for the summer terms. The training series highlights six strategies that can help you apply principles of quality online instruction in your remote teaching.

  1. Start with a course template.
  2. Organize your course for student success.
  3. Design effective assessments.
  4. Engage your learners with online activities.
  5. Provide course materials in a variety of formats.
  6. Stay present with your students.

Additional workshops describe how to make the most of assignments and rubrics, manage media in your course site, and promote participation with the web conferencing tool Zoom.
