New Tools for Building Student Resilience

This message to all students has been approved by Dr. Sally McRorie, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The Student Resilience Project team continues to add content for coping with stress and anxiety during the pandemic. Students can share this information freely with family and friends — it is open access and available to everyone.

Last week, the team added Writing to Relax, which describes the benefits of reflective writing. The toolkit includes writing prompts and tips to make the experience meaningful and relaxing.

In addition, the Resilience Team added a Grounding Toolkit. “Grounding” is a technique that helps people overcome stress and anxiety by helping them get reconnected with their surroundings.

A set of activities that guides students (and others) through the process and is available here.
