Changes to your myFSU student email account

This message to all students has been approved by Jane Livingston, Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

Starting April 21, students will be able to send no more than 5,000 emails from their myFSU student email account each day.

This change will help reduce spear phishing attacks at FSU. Spear phishing uses compromised accounts to send phishing messages, so it looks like the email is coming from a trusted source, such as a fellow FSU student.

For the most part, this change shouldn’t affect many people. ITS will assess the impact over the next several days though and may adjust the daily send limit again in the future.
