Q&A update on FSU Postal Services

This message to all faculty and staff has been approved by Mitch Kilcrease, Associate Vice President of the Office of Business Services.

Due to recent developments pertaining to COVID-19, Postal Services has adjusted on-campus mail and package delivery service to three days a week:  Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We understand there are mail and packages that are time-sensitive, therefore, if mail or packages require immediate attention, contact us at postal@fsu.edu or (850) 644-2794 to arrange for expedited handling and delivery.

Alternatively, mail pick-up is available at our main office at 800 West Madison Street on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. To maintain social distancing protocols in our lobby, contact us at postal@fsu.edu or (850) 644-2794 in advance to schedule pick-up.

When can departments expect delivery of their mail?

Mail will be delivered to departmental mailrooms on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the standard delivery times posted at https://postal.fsu.edu/mail-codes.

How can departments receive essential packages and other freight items that are normally delivered directly to campus offices by FSU Postal Services, FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc., when our department is working remotely and cannot access our building?

When ordering essential items to support remote work, we recommend direct shipment to your home using the following FSU Procurement guidelines: https://procurement.fsu.edu/COVID19Shipping.

FSU Postal Services is coordinating efforts with major postal carriers to have undeliverable packages redirected to our main office at 800 West Madison Street, and will attempt to contact recipients to arrange for an on-campus pick-up or delivery.

Additionally, Postal Services will receive and store all essential packages and freight items at our main office at 800 West Madison Street until an authorized departmental representative can arrange for pick-up or on-campus delivery upon your department’s building re-opening.

To arrange for package pick-up at our main office at 800 West Madison Street, contact us in advance at postal@fsu.edu or (850) 644-2794 to schedule pick-up. Be prepared to give the full name of the person authorized for pick-up and the department they represent. Only University personnel are authorized to pick-up and receive packages and must present their FSUCard at that time.

For questions or more information, contact us at postal@fsu.edu, (850) 644-2794 or visit https://postal.fsu.edu/.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to best serve the evolving needs of the FSU community.
