Florida is emerging as a national leader in pediatric rare disease research with the signing of HB 907, the Sunshine Genetics Act. The law launches the $3 million Sunshine Genetics Pilot Program, establishes the Florida Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases at Florida State University’s College of Medicine and lays the groundwork for a $100 billion genomic medicine industry.
