Barron discusses university ‘pre-eminence’ bill with Florida Gov. Rick Scott

Barron made a presentation to Florida Gov. Rick Scott on April 12 in support of the “pre-eminence” bill passed by the Legislature in the recent legislative session. The bill allows increased flexibility for public universities that meet certain benchmarks of accountability. Universities that qualify would be allowed to request permission to charge market tuition rates from their boards of trustees and the Florida Board of Governors.
