NOTABLE

Florida State University’s Campus Reimagined Initiative (CRI) has been granted a new patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patented “Video Submission Survey Reviewer System Process” represents a significant addition to CRI’s intellectual property portfolio, with a keen focus on enhancing the university experience for students.  This groundbreaking system, a brainchild of CRI inventors Andrew Bucior (Information Technology Services) and William Lindner (Provost’s Office), revolutionizes the way student feedback is collected and analyzed. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, the system invites students to submit video impressions of campus life directly from their mobile devices. Behind the scenes, artificial intelligence processes these insights, employing natural language processing for sentiment analysis, image recognition, and campus safety notifications. The patent team also includes Rick Burnette (Provost’s Office), Yaacov Petscher (Florida Center for Reading Research) and former CRI staff member Pete Butler. This collaborative effort underscores the Initiative’s commitment to leveraging technology for a more responsive and connected campus environment.
