The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at Florida State University will host Entrepreneurship Month, or eMonth, a celebration of self-starters who have proven small ideas can turn into big successes.

Throughout November, The Jim Moran Institute, which is housed in the College of Business, will host events that aim to foster a culture of entrepreneurship across campus.

Three key events include:

  • ENTreprelooza Student Expo: Students-turned-entrepreneurs will showcase the enterprises they have developed and launched through the College of Business Entrepreneurship program. Open to the public, the event takes place on the Oglesby Union Green from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, and includes free food, music and giveaways.
  • 7 Under 30: Seven successful entrepreneurs who started their businesses before the age of 30 will speak, including celebrity Florida State alumna Kate Pankoke from Lifetime’s “Project Runway” and Carley Ochs, founder of Bourbon and Boweries. Open to the public, this event includes a Q&A session and takes place from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in Room 208 of the Augustus B. Turnbull III Florida State Conference Center. This event is free to Florida State students, faculty and staff, but pre-registration is required at jmi.fsu.edu/emonth. To register, use Promo Code: FSUJMI. General admission for the public is $20.
  • Progressive Luncheon: This event allows entrepreneurs to share their knowledge and experiences with students during intimate table discussions over lunch. The luncheon features a keynote speech by Doug Tatum, the founding partner and chairman emeritus of Tatum, LLC, the nation’s largest financial and technology executive services firm with more than 1,000 professionals in 33 offices nationwide. The luncheon takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the University Center Club’s Tom and Ginny Futch Ballroom, on the third floor of Building B. This event is for Florida State College of Business students only, and pre-registration is required at jmi.fsu.edu/emonth.

The Jim Moran Institute’s mission is to cultivate, train and inspire entrepreneurial leaders through education, research and applied training, consulting and mentorship and public recognition.
