More than a half-century ago, Florida State University College of Education Dean Mode Stone started a scholarship program on campus that has blossomed into one of the most successful in the state of Florida. The Southern Scholarship Foundation provides housing for students with a financial need, and for the first time in the history of the organization an alumnus runs it.
