Energy supplies in the United States, along with the economic concerns of Florida, have led to great interest—and great debate—in opening up the state’s Gulf of Mexico coastline to offshore oil and gas drilling. To shed light on the issue, Florida State University’s Institute for Energy Systems, Economics and Sustainability (IESES) and the Office of Research hosted the first Florida Symposium on Offshore Energy.
