Dear FSU Family,
As we prepare for the arrival of Hurricane Idalia, I’d like to take a moment to assure you that your safety is our top priority. University officials and emergency management personnel have been closely monitoring Idalia and have been meeting frequently over the past several days to make sure every FSU campus is fully prepared to take appropriate action as conditions warrant.
Our team has a wealth of experience in handling tropical storms, hurricanes, and other weather events, and I am confident that we have a robust emergency management plan and response in place. Please continue to take this time to make necessary preparations and review the FSU Emergency Preparedness Guide.
We will keep you informed throughout the storm, and I urge you to check alerts.fsu.edu frequently for official updates and information. Please heed all guidance, including any shelter-in-place advisories that may be issued.
Although it’s disappointing to miss Convocation and other fun activities that we had planned for this first week of classes, I know there will be plenty of opportunities to come together as a campus community throughout the semester.
For now, please do your part by staying informed, supporting your peers, and checking in with your families. FSU is a very special place, and together we will weather this storm with strength and resiliency.
Sincerely,
Richard McCullough
President
