‘Your Shot to Win’ vaccine incentive program winners chosen, COVID-19 cases continue downward trend

Thirty-four Florida State University students and employees won prizes in the Your Shot to Win drawing, with more than 12,000 fully vaccinated students and employees participating in the incentive program.

Students and employees who voluntarily submitted documentation of receiving both doses of a 2-dose COVID-19 vaccine series (Pfizer or Moderna) or a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen) by Oct. 1 were eligible to participate in the prize drawing.

Of the 12,264 total submissions,10,905 were from students while 1,359 were from employees.

The incentive program is one of several efforts the university has implemented to promote healthy behaviors and slow the spread of the virus.

Since their peak at the beginning of the fall semester, positive COVID-19 cases on campus have steadily declined. On Sept. 8, there were 599 positive COVID-19 cases affiliated with the university in isolation. As of Oct. 15, there were 39.

FSU has also completed more than 1,200 PCR tests in its rapid response COVID-19 testing lab since Oct. 1. During that time, only one specimen was positive.
