Florida State University’s Panhellenic Association received seven national awards, including the highest honor given to a college Panhellenic association, at this year’s National Panhellenic Conference.

The conference, which awarded FSU the 2024-25 National Panhellenic Conference Excellence Award, encompasses 26 women’s-only national/international member organizations and advocates for collegiate and alumnae sorority women to advance the sorority experience.

FSU’s Panhellenic Association is the governing body for 17 women’s sororities on campus. It is the largest and oldest women’s organization at Florida State University. All chapters focus on service, scholarship, leadership, sisterhood and personal growth.

These recent recognitions add to the association and chapters’ overall distinctions, including the more than 50 regional, national and international awards by their governing organizations last year.

“Being a Panhellenic woman at Florida State means the world to me,” said FSU Panhellenic President Alexa Hymes. “I’m incredibly lucky to be surrounded by women who are deeply committed to lifting one another up and building a stronger community every single day. Receiving the Excellence Award is a tremendous honor and a true testament to everything we do as a council.”

FSU’s Panhellenic Association received six Innovation Awards, including Academic Innovation, Innovation in Access, Belonging & Community Impact, Innovation in Leadership, Innovation in Recruitment, Innovation in Marketing and Innovation in Operations. Earlier this spring, the association was recognized regionally with the Dr. Lori Hart College Panhellenic Council of the Year, the Community Cultivation Award and the Council Impact Award at the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association conference.

“For years, the Panhellenic community at FSU has flourished under a spirit of continuous improvement,” said Freddy Juarez, director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at FSU. “They continue to create a space for women to discover what lies within themselves and unlock their leadership potential. These awards are evident of their hard work to create better spaces for students at FSU.”

Recruitment for FSU’s Panhellenic Association takes place before the beginning of each fall semester. To learn more about the award-winning FSU Panhellenic Association, please visit fsl.fsu.edu.
