For the fourth consecutive year, Florida State University will host “Without Words,” a unique, museum-style exhibit that focuses on increasing awareness of prevalent social justice issues. The program seeks to engage all the senses, giving visitors a chance to step into the shoes of others and gain new perspectives.
Free and open to the public, this year’s Without Words will focus on five key topics: the American correctional system; bullying; child soldiers; college-age addictions; and homelessness in Florida. Artifacts, images, multimedia works and other artistic depictions of the subject matter will be on display in the Oglesby Union Ballrooms from Monday, Feb. 27, through Friday, March 2.
From Feb. 27 through March 1, formal tours for the general public will take place between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and last about 45 minutes. No formal public tours are scheduled for March 2, but the exhibit will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. To schedule a private group tour for a class or organization during the five-day exhibit, visit the FSU Center for Leadership and Civic Education website.
