Florida State University recognized the fastest-growing companies owned or led by FSU alumni during the 5th annual Seminole 100 Celebration Saturday.
The 2022 fastest-growing business, Eat Fresco, is led by two-time alumnus of FSU, Robert Povolny.
The company, based in Tampa, Florida, is changing the way packaged food products are made while offering globally inspired, health-focused options. By employing state –of-the-art packaging to lock in freshness without the need for preservatives, their elevated home-dining product is answering the need for ready-to-eat meals that are also flavorful and nutritious.

“The alumni honored on the Seminole 100 exemplify the value of a degree from Florida State University and are instrumental in continuing our university’s tradition of excellence,” said Julie Decker, president and CEO of the FSU Alumni Association. “We are proud to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and success of our alumni and connect them with current students who will become the next generation of entrepreneurs.”
During the event, the Jim Moran Institute for Entrepreneurship presented the annual TRIBE Award to 1982 graduate James Pyle, CEO of LandSouth Construction based in Jacksonville, Florida. The TRIBE Award, which stands for “Top Revenue Indicator for Business Excellence,” is presented to the FSU alumni company with the highest 3-year average revenue.
The Seminole 100 is a celebration of the fastest-growing FSU alumni-owned or alumni-led companies. The 100 fastest-growing FSU alumni-owned or alumni-led businesses are recognized at the Seminole 100 celebration on FSU’s campus each year, during which each company learns their numerical ranking and receives their award.
This event honors FSU’s entrepreneurs and allows them to share valuable business insights with each other. Each November, honorees are announced in alphabetical order, but only on the night of the event do they learn who takes the top spot.
Seminole 100 companies were ranked, regardless of size, by evaluating their three-year compounded annual growth rates. To ensure the integrity and credibility of the list, financial partner EY carefully verifies the revenue numbers for every applicant using the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) formula.
Nominations for the 2023 Seminole 100 are currently open on seminole100.fsu.edu.
