The Florida State University College of Business moved closer to its goal of a Top 25 ranking among the nation’s public business schools.
In this year’s U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges Guide 2021,” ranking released Sept. 14, the college’s undergraduate program jumped three spots from No. 31 to No. 28. Among all universities, the college rose six spots from No. 50 to No. 44.
“We are extremely proud to be among the best business schools in the nation,” said Michael Hartline, dean of the College of Business. “We are determined to continue our journey of preeminence by focusing on our highly recognizable points of distinction: an outstanding faculty, rigorous programs and unparalleled student success.”
Two of the college’s specialty programs rank in the Top 5 among public universities.
The Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance came in at No. 5 among public schools and No. 5 overall. The Real Estate program achieved its best ranking to date: No. 5 among public schools and No. 8 overall.
Other notable rankings include the college’s best showings to date for the Management Information Systems and Marketing programs:
- Management Information Systems, No. 15 among public schools, No. 21 overall
- Marketing, No. 16 among public schools, No. 27 overall
- Management, No. 20 among public schools, No. 33 overall
- Accounting, No. 24 among public schools, No. 52 overall
Earlier this year, the college secured high standings on U.S. News’ annual online graduate business rankings. The online master’s degree in Management Information Systems (MS-MIS) and the online master’s degree in the Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance (MS-RMI) maintained Top 10 status among public schools, while holding their No. 12 ranking among all universities.
On the U.S. News list that rates the best online Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, the college placed No. 22 among public schools, earning No. 27 overall and No. 18 among the best public online MBA programs for military veterans.
In these latest U.S. News rankings, FSU retains its place in the Top 20 among national public universities, while improving in several key measures. FSU is No. 19 among public schools on the list, marking the second consecutive year that the university placed in the Top 20.
