Veterans and FSU | Issues in Education (July 2011)

Creating a more veteran friendly college campus is the focus of this episode of Issues in Education. FSU’s President Eric Barron and WFSU-TV’s Suzanne Smith talk with Randy Blass, the director of the Center for Veteran Outreach at the FSU College of Business. They also talk with Raul Perez, a U.S. Marine from 2000-2004 who is now working on his master’s degree in Public Administration at FSU. Perez and Blass talk about how universities can improve the experience for veterans. Also discussed is how these concerns have led to a new effort at The Florida State University to make the campus more veteran friendly. Dr. Barron also discusses how FSU is handling the new fiscal year under the latest round of budget cuts.
