By congressional resolution, October 20th is officially the National Day on Writing. Florida State University English Department Chair Kathleen Yancey explains her efforts in establishing the national day, and the launch of the online National Gallery of Writing. The English Department will host a celebration of writing October 20th from 10 am to 5 pm in the Williams building on Florida State’s main campus.
