“When it came time to choose which school could deepen her knowledge, Florida State’s College of Music was an easy choice for Alessandra.”
Alessandra Feris plays the piano beautifully. The music that emerges makes you stop—whatever you’re doing at the moment—and listen, your mind and body refreshed.
She did her undergraduate work in Porte Alegre, Brasil, and her master’s studies of Piano Performance at the University of Iowa. When it came time to choose which school could deepen her knowledge, Florida State’s College of Music was an easy choice for Alessandra. To be a part of “one of the strongest programs in the country” was an opportunity not to be passed over.
Here, she could continue to increase the breadth and depth of her performances. At the same time, she could teach younger students how to perform their own piano magic. Both secondary music majors and Honors students benefit from Alessandra’s talent and skills in music.
The word is also getting out about another of Alessandra’s talents—her fluency with the Portuguese language. That talent and her ability to teach it to native Spanish speakers have made her a popular Teaching Assistant in Modern Languages.
Teaching and performing propel Alessandra forward. Indeed, they are her future. After graduation, she will “continue performing and teaching.” No doubt she will be enriching the lives of those around her.
