Florida State University gives public notice of proposed increases to Out-of-State student fees, effective Fall 2025. Details on the proposed fee increases are available at https://tuition.fsu.edu/proposed-tuition-and-fees.
The FSU Board of Trustees will consider the proposal during a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24 (meeting dates and times are subject to change). Please continue to monitor the Board of Trustees website for potential changes to the next meeting date and time at https://trustees.fsu.edu/meetings.
Rationale and Use of Funds
Out-of-State Fee: This fee maintains the quality, accessibility, and competitiveness of academic offerings and student services in the face of rising operational costs. This fee was last increased over ten years ago. This increase ensures that out-of-state students contribute toward the total cost of instruction, facilities, and services provided by FSU.
Out-of-State Financial Aid Fee: This fee funds student financial aid awards and associated administrative costs. Like the Out-of-State Fee, it has remained unchanged for more than ten years. During this time, the university has significantly expanded its need-based and merit-based aid programs. The proposed increase will help offset the growing cost of these programs.
In accordance with state law, this notice is being emailed to all enrolled students.
