FSU Alumni Association to hold annual kickoff luncheon virtually

Save the Date - Alumni Association Kickoff Luncheon

For the first time in its history, the Florida State University Alumni Association will present its Annual Kickoff Luncheon in a special virtual format Thursday, Sept. 10. It will be streamed at 12 p.m. EDT on YouTube to registrants who purchased access links.

Traditionally held in person at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center to kick off the football season, the 69th annual event will feature video appearances by new Head Football Coach Mike Norvell, FSU President John Thrasher (B.S. ’65, J.D. ’72), FSU Alumni Association President and CEO Julie Decker and Alumni Board Chairman Dan Berger (B.S. ’89).

Voice of the Seminoles Gene Deckerhoff will emcee the event, provide virtual trivia and introduce the 2020 football players and coaching staff. Throughout the event, FSU spirit and fan excitement will be amplified by the Marching Chiefs.

“While we can’t gather in person this year, we are looking forward to keeping the tradition going and celebrating the excitement of the football season in a new way that provides the opportunity for alumni across the globe to participate,” said Director of Alumni Programs and Outreach Whitney Powers (B.S. ’09). “We invite alumni, friends and fans of FSU to tune in from their office or home and share photos of their watch party with the hashtag #KOL20.”

Access links are $5 for students, $15 for Alumni Association members and $25 for non-members. Registrants will receive a virtual event kit that includes event-exclusive downloads and more prior to the event.
