The Career Center will host three Resume Cafés this semester, with both in-person and virtual options for students to gain expert feedback on their resumes directly from employers.

The Florida State University Career Center will connect students with hundreds of employers during Career Fair Week, a special series of events taking place Tuesday, Sept. 12 through Thursday, Sept. 21.

“FSU’s career fairs provide an excellent opportunity for students to network with potential employers, industry professionals, and recruiters who are eager to hire Florida State University talent,” said Leslie Mille, interim director of the FSU Career Center. “Even if a student isn’t actively seeking a job or internship, our career fairs are valuable for gathering information about companies, industries and job requirements, and this knowledge can help them make informed decisions about their future career paths.”

Career Fair Week will kick off with three Resume Cafés where students gain expert feedback on their resumes. Employers will critique students’ resumes and offer advice on how they can best present themselves.

“The services and support the Career Center offers with resumes and preparation for interviews gave me the opportunity to shine in front of employers,” said Crasharra Gaines, an FSU recent graduate.

The STEM Career & Internship Fair is focused on engineering, computer science and other STEM-related fields. More than 100 employers are expected to attend, including L3Harris Technologies, Texas Instruments, Kimley-Horn and Associates and Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. This event seeks students to fill full-time, part-time and internship opportunities.

Seminole Futures is FSU’s largest, all-majors career fair, with nearly 750 recruiters from corporate, non-profit and government organizations seeking skilled, team-oriented, creative students and recent graduates. All students are invited to network with employers, discover career paths and find relevant experience in their field of interest.

“Attending Seminole Futures was a game-changer for me,” said Matthew Sopacua, an FSU senior studying finance. “The event opened doors to incredible opportunities and gave me a chance to connect with potential employers that I couldn’t have accessed otherwise. Seminole Futures truly embodies the spirit of empowering students, providing us with the platform and connections to shape our futures and make our dreams a reality.”

The Career Center has hosted Seminole Futures for more than 30 years. During the last academic year, The Career Center hosted over 500 organizations and 11,000 students at career fairs.
