
Considered earth-shattering news in entertainment, celebrity performer Taylor Swift and future Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Travis Kelce announced their engagement on Instagram Tuesday afternoon.
Florida State University’s Nari Jeter is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a special focus on couples. An associate teaching professor at the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, Jeter is also co-host of “The Coupled Podcast” that offers supportive conversations on relationships.
Last week, Jeter was interviewed by Newsweek to give her perspective on the celebrity couple’s appearance on the popular “New Heights Podcast” where they showcased an emotion called “compersion” – defined as the feeling of joy experienced when witnessing the happiness or success of another person.
Jeter’s work as an associate teaching professor at FSU includes strengthening interpersonal and family relationships through encouraging self-awareness, improving communication skills and increasing understanding of family and contextual influences. She also disseminates the research, intervention and clinical activities of FSU’s Family and Child Sciences Department through university and community public speaking engagements.
