Honors Program | Issues in Education (September 2012)

This year’s incoming FSU freshmen have an average high school GPA of 4.0. When everyone around you is high achieving, what else do you need to get into the University’s Honors Program? In this episode of Issues in Education we look at the qualifications and the responsibilities. FSU president Eric Barron and WFSU-TV’s Suzanne Smith talk with the Director of the Honors Program, Dr. James Mathes. Also joining them is Honors student and Goldwater Scholar, Dan Stribling. They discuss the 80th anniversary of the program, what life is really like for Honors Students and how the program can help students in their future careers. Dr. Barron also discusses the renewal of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory grant from the National Science Foundation.
