Florida State University President Eric Barron and WFSU-TV’s Suzanne Smith talk with expert on aging Dr. Jill Quadagno, who was recently named a fellow to the Institute of Medicine, one of the four organizations that make up the prestigious National Academies. A professor in Social Gerontology at Florida State, she is the author of a noted book, published in 2005, “One Nation, Uninsured: Why the U.S. Has No National Health Insurance.” Dr. Barron also discusses the six elements of funding for a university and how Florida State and other Florida universities are planning to approached these elements in the coming years.
