The Deepwater Horizon oil spill released 4.1 million barrels worth of crude oil into Gulf of Mexico, but that is only part of the story. A new study co-authored by FSU Oceanographer Ian MacDonald is the first to examine comprehensively the magnitude of hydrocarbon gases released during the spill.
