Andree Aubrey

Director, Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program


Andree Aubrey is the director of the Area Health Education Center at the Florida State University College of Medicine. The FSU AHEC has a focus on implementing tobacco-free policies and cessation services in behavioral health organizations throughout Florida. Ms. Aubrey directs FSU’s nationally accredited Tobacco Treatment Specialist foundation course for health professionals which is a collaborative effort of AHEC faculty and staff.

A licensed clinical social worker, Ms. Aubrey has spent her entire career working in health-related areas with underserved communities and populations. Her research focuses include health literacy and tobacco, especially brief interventions for tobacco users who are not ready or confident about quitting.

Ken Brummel-Smith

Professor Emeritus


Dr. Brummel-Smith is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Geriatrics at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He founded and served as chair of the Department of Geriatrics from 2003 until 2015. He served as chief of the division of geriatrics at two medical schools (University of Southern California and Oregon Health Sciences University).

Dr. Brummel-Smith is an expert on patient access to health care, Alzheimer’s disease as it relates to caregiver support and diagnosis of the disease, and elder health care needs. He has been selected by his peers 11 times as one of the Best Doctors in America.

Alma Littles

Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and Academic Affairs


Dr. Littles serves as the chief academic officer for the College of Medicine with overall responsibility for the education program, as delegated by the Dean. She is former director of the Family Practice Residency Program at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and has been involved in medical education since 1989, when she began precepting medical students and residents in her rural practice. She joined the faculty of the Family Practice Residency Program at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in 1996, and became director in 1999.

Dr. Littles is an expert on patient access to health care.  A former president of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Littles is a leader in organized medicine and a longtime patient advocate.
