FSU names new AVP for Research Business Strategy and Operations

Jenn Garye is the new Assistant Vice President for Research Business Strategy and Operations.

In a move to bolster Florida State University’s rapidly expanding research enterprise, Vice President for Research Stacey S. Patterson has announced the promotion of Jenn Garye to Assistant Vice President for Research Business Strategy and Operations.

“Jenn’s leadership, insight and unwavering dedication to our university have been instrumental in advancing our research operations,” Patterson said. “Her extensive experience has made her a go-to resource across FSU. In her new role, Jenn will continue to elevate our research infrastructure and foster the collaboration essential to achieving FSU’s ambitious research goals. We look forward to her leadership as we continue to grow our research enterprise.”

Garye, who has served FSU for nearly two decades, joined the Division of Research in 2015, serving as Director of Business Operations. In this role, she has provided guidance on policy development, compliance and business process improvements that have benefited research administration across campus. Her earlier roles at FSU include positions in the Department of Biological Science and FSU Athletics.

As Assistant Vice President, Garye provides strategic leadership in all areas of research business operations, including administrative services, fiscal management, procurement, human resources, reporting and business planning. Garye’s vision, expertise and dedication will further enhance FSU business processes and strengthen the support provided to faculty and staff across the university.

Garye is a two-time graduate of Florida State University. In 2019, she was honored with the Gabor Award, which recognizes employees who have made outstanding contributions to the university’s effectiveness and efficiency. She also serves on numerous national committees through the National Council of University Research Administration and the Federal Demonstration Partnership.
