Florida State University alumna and senior human resources executive Angela Santone will be the keynote speaker for FSU’s 2024 Seminole 100 Celebration.
The annual Seminole 100 list and celebration recognizes the fastest-growing businesses owned or managed by FSU alumni and represents some of the most innovative and profitable companies in the U.S.
As a senior human resources executive, Santone has over 25 years of experience transforming workplace culture, improving operations and achieving groundbreaking results for global companies.
Formerly the senior executive vice president of human resources at AT&T, Santone oversaw its global human resources strategy to transform internal operating culture, workforce practices, organizational culture, talent acquisition and retention and total rewards. She was one of only three female top executives at AT&T before her departure in 2023.
Before that, she rose through the ranks of the human resources industry, becoming the executive vice president, global chief human resources officer for Turner Broadcasting System Inc.
“I am honored to celebrate our distinguished FSU alumni who make an impact on our economy and the communities where we live and work each day,” said Santone.
Santone earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the FSU College of Social Sciences and Public Policy in 1993.
She is also passionate about advocating for and mentoring women, leading numerous mentoring groups and previously served on the national Board of Governors for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the Board of Directors for the Jed Foundation, which focuses on suicide prevention on college campuses and in high schools.
Today, she continues to support FSU by serving on the Student Affairs Development Committee. She was named a Distinguished Alumni in 2020 and was honored to serve as commencement speaker in 2022.
The Florida State University Seminole 100 Celebration, in partnership with the FSU Alumni Association, is presented by the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship. Honorees and their businesses will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee.
