Emilio T. González, an international affairs specialist who has spent most of his career in foreign affairs and international security policy issues, will speak at Florida State University on Tuesday, March 5, about U.S. immigration policy and national security.
This event is part of the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy’s Ruth K. & Shepard Broad International Lecture Series and the Center for Global Engagement’s Engage Your World Speaker Series.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at The Globe Auditorium, 110 S. Woodward Ave., Tallahassee, Florida. A reception will take place at 5 p.m. During this talk, González will provide expert insight into U.S. immigration policy and national security.
González served as director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, an undersecretary position in the Department of Homeland Security during the George W. Bush Administration. He also served as director for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the National Security Council, where he was a key national security and foreign policy adviser to President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
