Florida State University’s School of Theatre presents a family-friendly comedy show based on the popular picture book by Mo Willems.
“Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience” will run from Thursday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Richard G. Fallon Theatre.
“From the moment the lights go up, you’re in for a fantastic time filled with music, dancing and mole rats who are totally — wait for it — NAKED! (just kidding!),” said director Julie Woods-Robinson. “This show is all about embracing change and finding yourself.”
The story follows Wilbur, a mole rat who challenges the status quo by wearing clothes. The high-energy rock soundtrack accompanies Wilbur’s journey, promoting themes of authenticity and self-expression.
“When all the Naked Mole Rats go bare, Wilbur dares to wear, challenging the status quo with his fabulous outfits,” Woods-Robinson said. “This charming trendsetter embraces change, authenticity and being himself, inspiring others with his confidence and flair for fashion. The high-energy rock soundtrack that accompanies Wilbur’s journey is sure to get you dancing in your seat.”
The cast features FSU Theatre students Cole Hall (Wilbur J. Mole Rat Jr.); Caitlyn Primous (Grande Mole Rat); Chijioke Oparaji (Venti Mole Rat); Elizabeth Van Dyke (Tall Mole Rat).
Bringing this production to life are director Julie Woods-Robinson; music director Andre Peelé; scenic designer Tatiana Vintu; costume designer J. Miller; lighting designer Heather Reynolds; and sound designer Zach Cramer.
