Florida State University recently celebrated its faculty members who published a book, musical score or CD in 2022 and 2023.

FSU Authors Day acknowledged and honored faculty and staff who contributed to these publications. The showcase highlighted the diversity of their work, representing the fields of STEM, arts, humanities and social sciences.

“Authors Day is a great opportunity to gather faculty authors and celebrate their work as a community,” said FSU Provost Jim Clark. “Even if you’re in the room with people who published projects totally different from your field, what you have in common is the knowledge of the hard work it took. It creates a level of joy and satisfaction incomparable to anything else we do here.”

Throughout the year, FSU’s faculty and staff have made contributions to 125 printed books, ebooks, textbooks and original creative works available on CDs and streaming platforms.

“This is a real celebration of scholarship,” said Gale Etschmaier, dean of University Libraries. “Not only does research expand the world of knowledge, but it is also important for the teaching professors do because the most exciting teaching comes from those engaged with research.”
