Ancient anthropological fossil provides new insight into brain evolution

Florida State University professor and paleoanthropologist Dean Falk specializes in studying the human fossil record. Her latest research focuses on the Taung Fossil, which some believe is the missing link between the evolution of humans and apes. With a team of experts from Zurich, Switzerland, Falk uncovered a complex set of human brain features happening at an early age from an open suture in the fossil.
