Florida State celebrates distinguished composer Carlisle Floyd

Carlisle Floyd’s career began at Florida State University when, at the tender age of 21, he began work on his first opera. ;"Susannah", first staged in FSU’s Ruby Diamond Auditorium, would go on to become the most well-recognized and definitive example of American Opera. To celebrate Floyd’s illustrious career and his many contributions to FSU, the College of Music hosts "A Celebration of Carlisle Floyd" Saturday, September 24th.
