
Florida State University’s School of Theatre presents “Junie B. Jones, The Musical,” based on the beloved children’s book series by Barbara Park.
Join Junie B. Jones as she navigates the ups and downs of growing up. From making new friends to developing her talents, this spirited six-year-old tackles each day with enthusiasm, humor and her own unique perspective on the world.
Performances will run from Thursday, Nov. 20, through Sunday, Nov. 23, at The Richard G. Fallon Theatre.
“This show is packed with fun for everyone,” said Melissa Tarduno, the production’s director. “The creators of ‘Junie B. Jones, The Musical’ beautifully capture the big emotions children experience and remind us how friendship, family and resilience help us overcome our insecurities.”
This colorful musical captures the joy, challenges and hilarious misadventures of childhood in a way that will resonate with audiences of all ages.
“Junie B. represents a bit of all of us, proving that when we believe in ourselves, anything is possible,” Tarduno said. “Big or small, you’ll have a ball!”
The cast features FSU School of Theatre students Leah Joy Ifill and Gianna Weerasooriya sharing the title role of Junie B. Jones, with Ellie Rae Dobleske as May, Patrick Melley as Herb, and Londyn Kirol as Lucille.
The production features direction by Tarduno, scenic design by Ryan Douglass, costume design by Diana Girtain, sound design by Alex Riggs, and lighting design by Lindsay Kramer.
