Florida State University’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship celebrated five rising young entrepreneurs at its reimagined 5 Under 30 event held Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Jim Moran Building in downtown Tallahassee.
Formerly known as 7 Under 30, this signature event returned with a refreshed format but the same mission: to spotlight driven innovators who launched their own ventures before the age of 30. Open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the Tallahassee community, the program invited attendees to hear firsthand from founders turning ideas into impact.
The event featured a keynote address and moderated panel discussion led by Josh Orlinsky, Chairman and Global Chief Executive Officer of Equiturn Holdings. Orlinsky drew on his experience in private capital and strategic advisory, as well as Equiturn’s recognition as the No. 1 company on the Seminole 100 list in consecutive years, before guiding a dynamic conversation with the honorees during the 5 Under 30 panel.
Each of the five speakers shared insight into their entrepreneurial journeys. They discussed the decisions that shaped their paths, the challenges they overcame and the lessons that continue to guide their leadership. Their talks were followed by an open Q&A session, giving the audience the opportunity to learn directly from leaders across industries such as finance, marketing, lifestyle brands, media production and outdoor recreation.
