Stay Healthy Training & Daily Wellness Check Application

This message to all faculty and staff has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff.

In anticipation of the return of faculty, staff, and students to campus, two new initiatives have been launched to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the campus community.

Stay Healthy FSU: Faculty & Staff Training

The Office of Human Resources has developed a comprehensive training to prepare employees for the new normal amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Stay Healthy FSU: COVID-19 Training for Faculty and Staff serves as a resource that employees can reference for information on COVID-19 facts, the University response, policies and protocols, and additional helpful information. Due to the dynamic nature of the pandemic, this training will be updated as new data is published and as policies and procedures are amended. Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to take this training regardless of whether they remain working remotely or return to campus.

Daily Wellness Check

The University has also implemented a Daily Wellness Check to encourage safety and self-awareness by daily screening for COVID-19 symptoms. All employees are strongly encouraged to complete the FSU Daily Wellness Check App each day prior to reporting to work on campus. The Daily Wellness Check App is available through myFSU Mobile and myFSU portal.

How the App Works

When accessing the FSU Daily Wellness Check App, employees will be provided an opportunity to notify the University if they have tested positive for COVID-19. Employees will also be asked to select if they are experiencing any symptoms consistent with COVID-19, and if they live with, have had close contact with, or have had known exposure to an individual confirmed to be positive for COVID-19. Based on the selections, employees will be advised on their authorization to report to work on campus. Additionally, supervisors will receive an email confirming whether an employee is clear to report to campus or should remain off campus until cleared by Human Resources. In cases where an employee selects they live with, have had close contact with, or have had known exposure to an individual confirmed to be positive for COVID-19, employees may be required to quarantine for 14 days before being authorized to return to campus.

Employees who indicate that they have tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to follow the University’s return to work protocol, which requires:

  1. They remain off campus at least 10 days after the date a positive test is obtained, and;
  2. They have been without fever for at least 24 hours (while not taking fever-reducing meds such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen), and any symptoms are markedly reduced, and;
  3. They provide a note from their health care provider or the county health department indicating they should be allowed to return to work, or they provide a negative test result obtained at least 10 days from the initial positive test result in lieu of the note from their health care provider.

There is an exception for employees who work in healthcare facilities that are owned/operated by FSU. Employees in these facilities will be required to demonstrate two negative tests that are obtained at least 24 hours apart before they can return to patient care activities based on CDC recommendations.

This app has been designed to streamline health related communication to lower the risk of returning to work on campus. By utilizing the Daily Wellness Check App, FSU faculty and staff can do their part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on campus.

Thank you for doing your part to keep the campus community safe.
