Dear FSU family,
We’ve all watched with shock and horror this week’s events in Louisiana, Minnesota and Texas.
While we mourn the victims and pray for their loved ones, I want to assure you we remain committed to fostering an environment at Florida State University that values diversity and inclusiveness. We are — and will continue to be — a community that is welcoming to everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or identity. I hope you all join with me in affirming our love for all members of our FSU community and in rejecting hatred and racism in all their forms.
As president, it is the incredible sense of togetherness that has resonated with me the most as I meet with faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the university every day. In times of tragedy, that is what helps us move toward peace and understanding. It is more important than ever to show how much we care for and support each other as fellow Seminoles, as Floridians and as Americans.
