FSU to be "most veteran-friendly campus"
FSU President Eric Barron is joined by representatives from the FSU Collegiate Veterans Association, the FSU Interfraternity Council, and the FSU Film School to announce the university's new veteran initiatives. To launch the initiatives, a special Veterans Day screening of “Hell and Back Again,” directed by Danfung Dennis, will make its Southeastern premiere at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall on Nov. 11. Pepper Center director receives statewide award
Larry Polivka, director of the Claude Pepper Center at FSU, has received the Dr. Carter Osterbind Outstanding FCOA Member Award from the Florida Council on Aging. He was given the distinction for being a "strong aging services policy advocate, researcher and teacher who exemplifies the spirit of Carter Osterbind."
Lovins Named ROTC's No. 1 recruiter
Retired Capt. Bob Lovins receives the Recruiting Operations Officer of the Year award from the U.S. Army Cadet Command. The award signifies that under Lovins' watch, FSU's Army ROTC program met its mission to transform students into lieutenants better than any of the other 273 Army ROTC battalions.
