A 1972 graduate of Florida State University, she retired after faithfully serving under five different university presidents.

Florida State University creative writing professor Julianna Baggott is a national bestselling author with 18 books under her belt. Her new post-apocalyptic thriller, ‘Pure’, is earning rave reviews from the New York Times and Publisher’s Weekly. The film rights to ‘Pure’ have been sold to Fox 2000 Pictures with a ‘Twilight’ saga producer already on board.

Florida State University researcher Roxanne Hughes set out to understand why so many undergraduate women abandon math and science majors compared to men. Hughes studied 26 FSU female undergraduate students and found that those who did stick to their STEM majors shared three key things in common: positive family support, strong peer networks and the opportunity to do undergraduate research.
