Florida State University researches with its Center for Advancement of Learning and Assessment receive $2 million from the U.S. Department of Education to develop new student assessments.  The research will focus on assessing complex cognitive skills--an important area of student learning and growth where statewide tests such as the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, or FCAT, fall short.
