Each year, Florida State University shines the spotlight on some of its best teachers at the annual Faculty Awards Ceremony.  Lenore McWey, an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Child Sciences, receives the faculty’s highest teaching honor—the ‘Distinguished Teacher Award.’

04/10/2012 - Florida State University strives to make the world a better place

Florida State University needs your participation in a national cancer prevention study. The study, known as the Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3), is targeted towards men and women between the ages of 30 to 65 years old who have never been diagnosed with cancer. On Thursday, April 12th, FSU hosts its second TEDxFSU event, which features a variety of speakers consisting of students, faculty, staff and community leaders.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Florida State University (OLLI at FSU) is designed for people over the age of 50 who want to continue their education in a stress free environment. OLLI at FSU announced it has received a $1 million endowment from the Bernard Osher Foundation for its outstanding program. On the other side of campus, FSU’s Habitat for Humanity hosted the ‘Seminole Shack Showdown,’ a four-day event in which student organizations advocated against homelessness by building their own wooden shacks and ‘living’ in them.
