Reading comprehensions seems like something that would come after you learn to read, right? Not quite. College of Education Assistant Professor Young-Suk Kim is part of a very successful study out of FSU's Florida Center for Reading Research. Kim and her colleagues have developed a series of classroom interventions to improve a child's listening comprehension--a key ability that has dramatic positive effects on a child's eventual ability to comprehend what they read.
