Researchers have made a lot of progress in the study of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, including identifying what makes one person more prone to experiencing it over another. Florida State University marks the official opening of the Marvin A. Mitchell Sr. Behavioral Laboratory. The facility was established with a $50,000 gift from businessman Andy Mitchell and his wife, Kathy Ireland Mitchell, who are both 1974 graduates of the College of Business.

Karlanna Lewis double majored in Creative Writing and Russian. She is a dancer, poet, illustrator, and linguist. She is also a 2012 Rhodes Finalist.

The Big Bend Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals presented a special Lifetime Achievement in Philanthropy award to Florida State University President Emeritus Talbot “Sandy” D’Alemberte and his wife, Patsy Palmer, during the chapter’s annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Nov. 10.
