FSU to host health information technology event
The College of Communication and Information at The Florida State University is hosting the Florida Health Information Exchange Kickoff Meeting on Friday, June 4, at the Turnbull Conference Center in partnership with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.
The free event will bring together Florida health care providers, associations, regional extension centers, government agencies and other stakeholders. Dr. David Blumenthal, the national coordinator for Health Information Exchange, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will serve as the keynote speaker.
Additional morning speakers will include Laura Adams, chair of the National eHealth Collaborative, and Christine Nye, director of the Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis. The afternoon will feature breakout sessions focusing on issues of technical, clinical and regional extension center aspects of health information exchange.
The College of Communication and Information has several health information technology research initiatives in progress and is in the process of finalizing graduate and undergraduate certificate programs in health information technology in partnership with the College of Nursing.
