Physician to discuss 'The Health Reform We Need And Are Not Getting'

Dr. Arnold S. Relman, professor emeritus of medicine and social medicine at Harvard Medical School and former editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, will present “The Health Reform We Need And Are Not Getting” in a free, public lecture on Wednesday at The Florida State University.

In his soon-to-be-republished book “Second Opinion,” Relman outlines an insightful approach to rescue American health care, and he has written several articles on health care reform that were published recently in the New York Review of Books and the New England Journal of Medicine. Relman received his medical degree from Columbia University and has taught at a number of medical schools including Boston University, the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University. He was appointed by the White House to serve on the Health Professionals Review Groups and by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to serve on the Board of Registration in Medicine.

Relman’s lecture, sponsored by the Pepper Institute on Aging and Public Policy and the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy with funding by Beverly Enterprises/Golden Living, will be held:
